Bio

Elisa Härmä is a singer, composer, and producer from Helsinki, Finland. She was born in the city of Vantaa in 1988. Elisa has a versatile presence as a musician and a strong professional background in sound for visual media and film.

 

Elisa finished Sibelius High School in Helsinki (Matriculation Examination) and completed a Media Assistant Degree at Helsinki Vocational College. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music (music technology) from the Sibelius Academy, and she is currently a Master's Degree student in music technology at the Academy.

 

Härmä possesses many different skills in music production, recording, mixing, choir music, film music, Finnish folk music/singing, playing the synthesizer, and creating soundscape installations. Elisa plays the piano and the flute.

 

Around 2020, Elisa Härmä started to compose and perform her own music. Her voice, electronics, synthesizers, and field recordings can be heard exploring the fields of ambient and light classical music, electronic music, and soundscapes in her works. Elisa’s recent works have been presented in concerts and festivals such as Tampere Biennale, Vocal Espoo, and Üle Heli. In June 2024, Elisa Härmä's composition "DIF" received the Saint-Saëns Special Award for Creative Innovation and a Gold Prize in the Saint-Saëns International Music Competition.
